How to Travel Like a Boss!

business travelUp until now you’ve probably been content to drive into the office every day. You go through the motions of sitting at your desk every morning, maybe with a cup of coffee, maybe after chit chatting with your co-workers. It’s possible that the only time you’ve ever left the city is to take a vacation. Because of this, you may find yourself a little stressed out about taking your first business trip. The travel manager has given you the schedule you’ll need to keep and at first glance it may seem impossible to follow. We’re here to tell you that corporate travel doesn’t have to be as daunting or confusing as it may first seem.

When it’s your turn to take a trip across the country for work, just remember these tips to ensure your travels go off without a hitch. Before you know it, you’ll be traveling like a boss!

Start On the Right Foot

The first bit of advice we can give is to overhaul your packing strategy. When you’re rushing through the airport to catch a last minute flight on time, the last thing you want to do is worry about dragging an awkwardly large suitcase behind you. Also, it just doesn’t look professional. Even when you’re in the airport and still nowhere near the meeting you’re scheduled to attend, you should still want to maintain an air of corporate professionalism. To ensure you look your best and are able to glide through the airport with ease, put a little bit of extra time and effort into packing your bags.

First and foremost, you should upgrade your carry-on luggage. There are plenty of bags out there that will provide enough room to include everything you would need for a few days away. One of the oldest tricks is to roll your clothes to preserve space and to leave unnecessary accessories at home. If you’re able to pack what you need in a carry-on bag you won’t get hit with checked luggage fees. You also won’t have to wait around the baggage carousel for your suitcase either.

TSA PreCheck

Everyone has to go through airport security. It’s a necessary evil, but there are ways to get through it faster. Don’t get stuck behind a bunch of people that aren’t prepared, possibly causing you to miss your flight. A true corporate travel professional will have already enrolled in the TSA PreCheck program. Several airlines offer the added convenience of the service which can expedite the screening process and get you to your gate with plenty of time to spare. When you qualify for the PreCheck program, you don’t have to worry about removing shoes, laptops, liquids, belts, or light jackets. This will allow you to breeze right through as if you were a true corporate VIP.

Airport Car Service

Another way you can rise above the rest of the airline travelers is by using a car service to get to the airport. You don’t have to worry about leaving your car unattended for several days on end in an unsupervised lot. Rather, you can leave it at home and instead be picked up by a chauffeur and relax while they navigate the traffic. They’ll help you with your bags, drop you at the closest gate, and be fully aware of updated flight information so you won’t have to worry about missing a flight or sitting around the airport bored if yours happens to be delayed.

So, if you’re lucky enough to be chosen for a business trip for your company, don’t let it stress you out. You can come off as a travel pro even if it’s your first time flying. Print out copies of the layout of the airport before you go so you can at least have a working knowledge of where you need to be. Proper planning in advance as well as assistance from a Los Angeles car service company like Cool Ride can ensure your next work trip out of LAX will have you looking like the corporate travel pro you truly are.
